Sign-in, chat permissions and 15 interface languages

Password-free Telegram sign-in, permissions granted one item at a time, a member profile page, and the interface in fifteen languages.

A chat is rarely moderated by one person. This release is about letting a team into the dashboard and making it readable for people who do not read Russian.

You sign in to the dashboard with Telegram, without a password. Your dashboard account gets linked to your Telegram account: you open the bot, press "Start", and the link confirms itself. If the button does not work, there is a code next to it that you can send to the bot by hand. Your name and avatar come from your Telegram profile, and inside the mini app sign-in happens automatically, with no separate screen.

Permissions#

The chat owner gets a Permissions section for handing out access to colleagues. Permissions are granted one at a time rather than as a "moderator" bundle:

  • managing moderation;
  • viewing members;
  • handling appeals;
  • viewing statistics;
  • viewing the moderation log and the activity log;
  • issuing punishments and lifting bans.

The list you grant from is the chat's Telegram administrators: the dashboard pulls it through the bot. The chat owner always has full access and is not configured in that list.

The point is that Telegram rights and dashboard rights are different things. Being an administrator in the chat does not automatically open moderation settings, logs and appeals: every item is granted separately and revoked just as separately.

The member page#

Every member now has a page of their own: profile, punishment history, their messages and the log events filtered down to them. Putting that picture together used to mean scrolling the shared log.

Fifteen languages#

The interface has been translated into fifteen languages: Russian, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Kazakh, Uzbek, Hindi, Indonesian, Persian and Arabic.

For Persian and Arabic the interface is fully flipped right to left. The language switcher has a search box, so you do not have to hunt for yours in a long list. The bot's direct messages and its replies in the group are translated too.
