The moderation log, the activity log and chat statistics

Moderation you cannot verify is moderation you take on faith. This release adds two logs: one answers "what did the bot do", the other "what happened in the chat".

The moderation log#

Every match is recorded in full: who wrote the message, which rule caught it, what exactly the bot did with it and which step of the punishment chain it applied. The text of the deleted message is kept — without it, arguing about a borderline case is impossible. The message the bot posted to the chat is shown right next to it.

The log is not only about automation: punishments handed out by administrators land there too, signed with the name of whoever issued them.

The activity log#

The second log is about members: joins and leaves, kicks and bans, name and username changes (with the old and the new value), deleted messages with their type, edited reactions. Messages are collapsed by default so the feed stays readable — a checkbox expands them in full.

Both logs got the same set of tools:

• filters by event type, member and outcome;
• a calendar for picking the period;
• search through message text.

Statistics#

The statistics page now has charts: messages, violations, members joining and leaving. The leave chart has a switch of its own — whether to count kicks and bans. Without it the chart shows natural churn; with it, the whole picture. The chosen period and chart settings are remembered until your next visit.

Punishments from the dashboard#

Ban, mute, kick and unban are now issued straight from the dashboard — from the member's card, from the member list, and from any row of either log without going anywhere. A confirmation dialog spells out what is about to happen and for how long, and the result goes straight into the moderation log.
