Privacy Policy for Scarabeus

This Privacy Policy explains what data Denis Gennadievich Bookreev, taxpayer under the Russian professional income tax (self-employed) regime, referred to as the Provider, processes when the Scarabeus service is used.

1. Data we process

We may process:

  • Telegram ID, username, first name, last name and interface language;
  • dashboard access data and connected chat data;
  • Telegram chat data: identifier, title, username, member count, roles and

access permissions;

  • moderation settings, rules, exemptions, sanctions, tariffs and paid features;
  • messages, media captions, message hashes, message links and media information

where needed for moderation, logs, appeals or AI moderation;

  • chat member data: Telegram ID, username, first name, last name, statuses,

join/leave events, activity, sanctions and appeals;

  • administrator and chat member comments submitted through appeals;
  • a connected Telegram bot token if the User connects their own bot;
  • technical data: IP address or access country, browser information, cookies,

local storage, error logs and technical events;

  • payment data to the extent provided by payment partners. We do not store full

bank card details.

2. Why we process data

Data is used to:

  • provide dashboard login and session security;
  • connect bots and chats;
  • configure and run moderation;
  • provide logs, statistics, appeals and action history;
  • provide paid features, tariffs and AI balance;
  • process payments, refunds and support requests;
  • maintain security, diagnostics, abuse prevention and legal compliance;
  • measure website and advertising campaign performance (web analytics).

3. Legal bases for processing

We process data on the following bases:

  • performance of the agreement with the User and provision of the Service;
  • the User's consent, where consent is required for a specific feature or action;
  • legitimate interest in security, diagnostics, abuse prevention and protection of

the Service;

  • compliance with legal requirements, including tax, payment and other mandatory

record-keeping obligations.

4. AI moderation and LLM providers

If AI moderation is enabled by the User, messages, media captions and attachments, if media processing is enabled, may be sent to external LLM providers for automated analysis. The result is used for moderation features, logs, manual review queues, sanctions and AI moderation billing.

The User may choose not to enable AI moderation or may disable it in the settings if they do not want this data to be sent to LLM providers.

5. Cookies and local storage

The Service uses cookies and local storage for login, session security, language, filters, selected chats, navigation and other interface settings. The landing page may also use attribution cookies and web analytics services (Google Analytics 4, Yandex Metrica) to measure traffic and campaigns.

6. Sharing data with third parties

We may share data with:

  • Telegram, where necessary for bots and Telegram integrations;
  • payment partners for payments and refunds;
  • LLM providers, if AI moderation is enabled;
  • web analytics providers (Google, Yandex), when enabled on the site;
  • hosting providers, infrastructure services and technical tool providers;
  • public authorities where required by law.

7. Data retention

We keep data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, perform the agreement, provide support, maintain security, keep financial records and comply with the law. Specific retention periods:

  • account data and settings — while the account is active and for 3 years after the

last activity;

  • moderation logs and participant activity — 2 years;
  • appeals — 3 years after closure;
  • payments and receipts — 5 years;
  • cookies and session data — for the session lifetime or until deleted in the

browser.

8. User rights

The User may contact support@scarabe.us to request information about data processing, data export, correction, deletion or restriction of processing where applicable.

Some data may not be deleted immediately if it is needed to perform the agreement, maintain security, keep records, resolve disputes, process technically mistaken payments or comply with the law.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.
